Silversea tends to appeal to those who value destination depth and expedition options alongside classic luxury, and it is consistently one of my top recommendations whether you are travelling as a couple, solo, or in a small group. ​What Makes Silversea Different?

Silversea is an all-inclusive, ultra-luxury cruise line. That means your fare covers far more than just the cabin. Premium wines and spirits, gratuities, fine dining across multiple restaurants, Wi-Fi, and butler service are all included as standard. On many voyages, shore excursions and transfers are included too.

The ships are deliberately small. Silversea's fleet ranges from just 51 suites on their expedition vessels up to 364 suites on the newest Nova-class ships, Silver Nova and Silver Ray. Even on the larger ships, the atmosphere stays intimate, personal, and beautifully paced.
What I notice most — and what my clients consistently tell me — is the service. The crew-to-guest ratio is close to one to one. Staff learn your name, remember your preferences, and genuinely care about your experience. Silversea has simplified its pricing into three fare tiers. The important thing to know: they all give you exactly the same Silversea onboard experience. What changes between them is the flexibility, the deposit terms, and how shore excursions are handled. Here's the honest version.
What you get on every fare   
Whichever one you choose, these are included as standard:
  • Complimentary beverages throughout the ship
  • Butler service in every suite
  • All-inclusive dining across the restaurants
  • Onboard gratuities

  • All-Inclusive Plus — the most comprehensive option, and the one I suggest for most people. A refundable deposit, protection under the Fare Guarantee Program, and a shore excursion credit to put towards the experiences you choose. You're paying a little more for genuine flexibility, and for most clients that's worth it.
  • All-Inclusive — available on oceangoing voyages. A flexible cancellation schedule, but the deposit is non-refundable, and you choose your excursions à la carte, either before you sail or once you're on board. And if you work with me, I'll find any applicable promotions such as Shore Excursions credits, and have them added on for you.
  • Last-Minute — offered on select oceangoing and expedition voyages within five months of departure. You pay in full at booking and the deposit is non-refundable, in return for the best savings. A good option if you can travel at short notice.

Unlike some lines where all-inclusive is a marketing term with caveats, Silversea’s model means the premium drinks, butler service, fine dining, and Wi-Fi are all part of what you pay. When it comes to suite categories, the Silver Suite is a particular favourite with my clients — it offers a separate living room, walk-in wardrobe, and a significant step up in space and service, without quite reaching the full owner’s suite price point.
